What Dis?
If you've come here (which I hope you have, otherwise this presents a bit of a philosophical problem concerning where here really is!), you've probably come here through a search engine, link from a forum, as a user of Hidden Agendas, or you may have just typed in the domain name, and hit enter - point is your here now and you can never leave (kidding)...
In high school I was into the irc/bbs/graphics/hacking/etc and my "mentor" (guy I knew when doing artwork for RCN magazine [reality check network]) said I needed a name... Turns out he was drinking some GiN and thus appropriated this name to me. When the internet was revolutionized once again by a company product packaged with Quake1 (m-something I thought, mplay? [NOT Mplayer] can't remember) that allowed folks to play over a tcp/ip connection, I got sucked in and soon found myself spending a lot of time playing. GiN became a name a few other folks took and so I needed something more unique, and as a result, mistergin was born. Since then it's been my online id for just about everything, and eventually as I became more and more interested in web programming (since about 94), it became an idea for a site about general stuff. I was never able to find a theme for it however, so the idea lay dormant.
Fast forward a few years, I become a professional web developer and now can use dynamic scripting languages to interact with databases, etc. I now have a much easier problem to solve since I could build a site with general tidbits here and there and provide a cool interface for em. Me and my brother are always passing links to each other that usually require a certain sense of humor, and there's always time for a few rants, I need a place to outline some projects I'm working on, I write, so boom, there's mistergin.net!
I imagine this site'll grow pretty fast as far as content is concerned and I hope that my projects section grows too, for that's what's going to show any progress I'm making as far as my Java/C# venture is concerned.
With that said, you've kind of got an idea of 'What Dis' is, so poke around and do stuff dammit!
